What is the difference between Database and DBMS?

Database:

  1. Any piece of information or facts that can be recorded and which has an implicit meaning is called as data.
  2. A database is organized collection of information or data so that data can be sorted, searched and managed easily and efficiently.

Database Management system (DBMS) :

  1. A database management system(DBMS) is a collection of programs(software) for creating and managing databases. It provides a way to interact with the database.
  2. DBMS has a lot of advantages over traditional file management system. DBMS also serves as a medium between database and end user. In DBMS it is quite easy to implement complicated transactions.
